Faculty members and instructors will find the Self-Discovery Tapestry an exciting instrument to use with students who are studying life-span development, aging, mental health, and career development. The Tapestry form provides a colorful guide that students enjoy using as they discover their own and their classmates’ continuous elements and critical events. The Tapestry encourages students to conduct semi-structured interviews with older adults or supervised clients as they gain understanding about themselves and others. When used as a counseling tool, individuals can incorporate sections of the Tapestry that seek responses to “questions” about values, careers and areas of interest to formulate constructive advice.

The Student Edition Tapestry kit contains two copies each of the Tapestry forms, Client Guides plus Individual Summary forms. In addition, a copy of the Leader’s Guide is included.  The Leader’s Guide provides instructions, suggestions for effective utilization,  background theories and case studies that will support students in their use of the forms and future research assignments
