The Self-Discovery Tapestry becomes a rewarding communication and planning vehicle when used with adult groups.  The mere fact that people work together on a shared interactive activity serves to create bonds of fellowship.  Such bonds are strengthened when members of the workshop, regardless of its purpose, share continuous elements of their lives.  They discuss how important events shifted their life trajectories. It’s exciting to see people recall important events and “discover” how those events affected, not only their present circumstances, but, also aids in planning their futures.  It may be valuable for members to concentrate on one or two sections of the Tapestry to focus on their short-term goals.  Nothing is lost, only delayed.  The Tapestry becomes a valued personal document for each member of the workshop.  Group leaders serve as guides and coaches when they become familiar with the Leader’s Guide.
